Throughout his exhibitions, Baidi Oumarou transpires his « humanity » through his paintings. The artist scrutinizes  human beings , man or woman, with an attentive eye using an expressionist technique which appears simply deceptive.

Baidi says « I use the love of  philosophy and my personal observations as the light and source of life that nourishes my being  » …….. I  assume this sensitivity, and try to bring this source of vitality like a flashlight…… “Focused on humans, in my works I represent a new world  using the most beautiful palettes I paint trying to enhance life around me  »

His characters without nationality or ethnicity highlight  the simplicity, the gentleness and the birth of a new being: The Flower Man

The flower men represented in Baïdi’s work are reminiscent of the Mentewai of Sumatra, a naturalistic society in which man is closely linked to nature and its ecosystem . It is the harmony between humans, plants and animals that constitute the balance of their ecosystem. The flowers in his works are honored and ritualized for their power to  activate positive feelings and emotions.

Applied to art, the ‘ humanisme ‘ influence manifests itself in the primacy accorded to man, in the form of a portrait with a predominance of emotion. Today, humanisme is illustrated by a feeling of compassion towards the immediate or more global environment. This can be political (such as the work surrounding the issue around Migrants by Jean David Knot), social (the Street Children by Armand Boua) or environmental concerns (such as the Voiceless by Baidi Oumarou) which are themes which seem predominant in many of the ‘new wave » artworks done by African contemporary artists
