Soul’s hybrid characters are in the spotlight. They are immediately recognisable by their globular eyes, their “cut” mouths and their flexible organic shapes. Both human, animal and plant, they were born from Soul’s overflowing imagination. An imagination inspired by the richness of the cosmogony Bambara, people of the Upper Niger region of Mali, according to which the first man was born from an acacia branch. He says he is also influenced by the surrealist universe of Bouabré, Picasso and Dali.
