Nine years ago, South African born fashion stylist Gareth Cowden had an idea to create a contemporary African accessories brand. Convinced that the world wanted more from Africa, than functionless artifacts  such as wooden elephants or giraffes… His vision was for people to attend gala dinners, offices or daily life with a touch of authentic Africa.

Babatunde was born!

The word Babatunde is a Yoruba name. Translated, the word literally means “the return of the father.” Babatunde means all that is genuinely African and promotes community and family values. The brand comes from South Africa and specializes in modern fashion accessories mostly made from Wax.
